mice in stitches...

Hello again - I have been working on the
outline for a new book featuring the mice...this one
all in cross stitch!

Have done some stitching, and also some
artwork to submit to the publisher -
here's hoping they are interested in publishing
this book!

One of the ideas I developed:
Miss Cupcake and her Bake Shop.

Obviously not finished yet, but
I am happy with the way it turned out!

Good weekend to all and
blessings

hello again...

No, I haven't been hibernating - but my
apologies for the long silence! I have been busy, both
travelling and working on various stitched projects
for a French publisher. (The same publisher who last
year published a book about the mice!)

The good news is that the mice have made their
debut in 'Platteland' magazine, the
autumn edition of which has just gone on sale!
They are very chuffed to be appearing in
their favourite magazine... in fact they are quite out of
hand with excitement, and I will have to make them
some cups of camomile tea to calm them down!

If you are interested in knowing more about the
mice, please feel free to either leave a comment on
this blog and I will get back to you - or send an email to:
rosebudlane@gmail.com

Have a peaceful week...blessings

Camomile's teapot...

As you may know, Camomile once
asked me to write down her story, about how
she came to live at Rosebud Lane and
open her little bakery and teashop.

So, I did, in a little handwritten and illustrated
book, which also includes some of
her most delicious recipes!

Several people have asked me if there are
still copies of this book available -
and I am happy to say there are.
Just send me a email at:
rosebudlane@gmail.com, if you
are interested and I will get
back to you with more information!

So... have a delicious weekend
and mouse blessings to you all...!

little mouse muffins...

Camomile is busy in her kitchen again, in the run up to
the new year... and this time she is sharing her recipe
for Baby Carrot Muffins, which are much loved
among the mice!

This recipe actually comes from her book,
'Camomile's Teapot', which tells the story of how
she came to live in Rosebud Lane, and started
her own little teashop (with recipes).
This book is also available from me,
just click on the 'store' page for more
information about ordering.

Enjoy...with merry mouse wishes
for a happy and delicious new year!

in the mouse kitchen...

It's not generally widely known that mice (and rats, too)
love to cook and bake - the movie
'Ratatouille' with Remy the little chef rat was
pretty much on the mark!

And of course when they are in the kitchen, they
especially love recipes with cheese - like the recipe
below for cheese daisies. They are very easy
to make, and so delicious they will be gobbled up in
two twitches of a mouse tail!

Enjoy!!

Happy mouse baking!

the country mice...

I have just completed these two little mice,
fresh from the vegetable patch with their pumpkins,
apples and carrots for some holiday baking!

They love the local (South African) country
magazine 'Platteland' - so much so
that they demanded I make them their
very own little copies!

These little rodents have my heart...
they are so gentle and sweet...
making them is just such a joy for me!

new arrivals at the lane!

Hello and welcome to my new blog which showcases
the little handstitched and heartmade mice
and other whimsical creatures I make!

These mice are one-of-a-kind, made from beautiful
wool felt and cotton fabrics, with lots of little
details; as such, they are not intended as toys for children,
but as very special little collectible gifts, or something
to spoil yourself with!

My motto is "Every House needs a Little Mouse" -
they remind us of the joyful simplicities
of life, and how we are all perfect and special, just
as we are.

Miss Lavender
She stands approx. 16 cm tall
and carries a fragrant little hand embroidered
lavender sachet!

And then we have Granny Square Mouse,
who just loves to crochet!
(The colours can be personalised to match
your favourites, if preferred).
She stands about 17 cm tall, and carries her
yarn and crochet hook with her wherever she goes!

If you need further information, or to order,
please send me an email, at rosebudlane@gmail.com.
or add a comment to this post.
Thanks and happy mouse moments...
